From Concept to Completion
In the initial design phase of our bathroom renovation, I envisioned incorporating a back-to-wall (BTW) toilet. Given the hollow sound of the walls, we hoped there would be space to house a concealed cistern within the wall, which would be preferable for the relatively narrow space. However, upon dismantling the old shower room, we discovered that the available area was more limited than anticipated, and also required the room to be levelled and squared.
We proceeded to level the flooring and constructed a studwork "box" covered with Marmox Multiboard tile backer board to ensure a square layout. During the renovation, we made several adjustments to the original design, including opting for a close-coupled toilet instead of the initially planned BTW toilet, selecting different tiles, and adding a small niche within the shower space for shampoo and shower gel, designed at an angle to facilitate water runoff.
